‘Clubwav Continuum’ is the bold new album from Robert O’Connor, following his critically acclaimed 2025 release 'Swimming Against The Tide'.

The project reimagines the original album’s ten tracks as a 1-hour continuous DJ-style mix, transforming Robert’s signature pop songwriting into an immersive electronic journey that flows without pause.

For the first time, Robert brings together his long-time collaborators Gareth Shortland (Steps, Sophie Ellis-Bextor, Will Young) and Jordan Arteaga (Night Tides: The Chillout Collection) on a single project — joined by Sakgra, Tee Webb, and platinum-selling songwriter Gordon Pogoda.

“I wanted this record to feel like one continuous wave,” says Robert. “It’s a love letter to the extended mix — to the era when songs were built for the dance floor, but still told a story.”

'Clubwav Continuum' includes all ten tracks from 'Swimming Against The Tide', newly remixed and reimagined with experimental flourishes, bridging ’80s sophistipop, ’90s dance, and modern electronic-pop.

Written and recorded with long-time producer Gareth Shortland (Sophie Ellis Bextor, Will Young, Steps), Robert says the pair took their time assembling “a perfectly-appointed pop record”, which he says is reminiscent of his favourite albums of the ‘80s, ‘90s and ‘00s.

“I would become immersed in a particular genre for months on end during the recording process”, says the Dublin artist. “Last summer, I listened to only sophisti-pop from the mid-to-late ‘80s – from Simply Red to Roxy Music – and then I would pivot and become enamoured with electronic acts like Röyksopp. This influenced the choices we made when producing the record, and it felt like I was revisiting chapters of my life musically”.

'Swimming Against The Tide' includes the LGBTQ Music Chart Top 5 hits "Summer Is Waiting", "Mysterious Times", "Everything You Wanted", "Something Strange", "Trick Of The Night", plus the brand new single "Head Turner".

'Severance' is the brand new EP from Robert O'Connor, declared "another sonic masterpiece" by RGM, while Retro Pop said the EP "showcases his superb songwriting and sees him finally find his sound".

The follow-up to 'Transcendence' sees Robert step into the big leagues, working with Gareth Shortland (Steps, Erasure) and Richey McCourt (Aimée, Erica Cody) to create a collection of songs that are laser-focused, both sonically and lyrically.

This definitive Deluxe Edition includes each and every remix from the era – by the likes of YouTube sensation Sakgra, Fletz, Skynem GT and Gareth Shortland, who puts a club spin on his original productions.

The 20-track set also features a brand new techno-inspired remix of the record’s biggest streaming hit “One Way Ticket”, which has passed 35,000 streams on Spotify and shows no signs of stopping there.

The record is closed by a momentous megamix clocking in at over 8 minutes and highlighting the hits of ‘Severance’ in a DJ-style set.
