‘Clubwav Continuum' (Individually Wrapped Edition) is the companion release to Robert O’Connor’s acclaimed album 'Clubwav Continuum', which reimagined 'Swimming Against The Tide' as a continuous 1-hour DJ-style mix.
This edition delivers ten extended mixes — individually wrapped for your playlists — allowing listeners to experience each track in full, standalone form. Every mix expands on the original song’s atmosphere, from hypnotic trance builds to sophisticated disco grooves, bridging ’80s synth-pop, ’90s dance, and contemporary electronic pop.
For the first time, Robert unites producers Gareth Shortland (Steps, Sophie Ellis-Bextor, Will Young) and Jordan Arteaga ('Night Tides: The Chillout Collection'), with contributions from Sakgra, Tee Webb, and platinum songwriter Gordon Pogoda.
“I wanted this version to celebrate the joy of the extended mix,” says Robert. “Each track has its own journey — something you can live inside, dance to, or just lose yourself in.”
‘Night Tides: The Chillout Collection’ is a brand new 13-track album “for the afterparty and the morning after”, according to Robert, who says the effort has been a life-long goal.
“There is nothing that centres me more than chillout music, and the process of producing this with Jordan Arteaga has been therapeutic and rewarding. These songs, including the singles which you’re already familiar with, take on an entirely new life, and in many cases new meaning, in this context. Sharing it with the world feels like a bucket-list moment for me”.
The collection takes tracks like Robert’s biggest streaming hit to date, “Everything You Wanted”, and transforms it from an ‘80s synth-pop song into a smooth lounge ballad recalling the glory days of George Michael and Sade — it shows an entirely new side to Robert, who proves across the project that he is no one-trick-pony.
Elsewhere, a downtempo version of teaser single “Mysterious Times” takes away the trademark trance elements of the original, rebuilding the track as a compelling ballad that wouldn’t feel out of place on Coldplay’s earlier albums.
