Separate Ways

Following the most successful single of his career, the infectiously catchy “One Way Ticket”, Robert is gearing up for the release of his new single “Separate Ways”, due January 20, with remixes following on January 27 and February 3.

The dynamic trance track is the fifth single to be taken from O’Connor’s critically-acclaimed EP ‘Severance’, which was released in October and became his most streamed release on Spotify to date, with 25,000 streams and counting.

“Separate Ways”, produced by Gareth Shortland (Steps, Erasure, Will Young) with vocal production by Richey McCourt (Aimée, Erica Cody) is the flipside to the EP’s opening single “Save You”, Robert explains. “Where there was hope, now there’s despair”, he says of the blistering break-up anthem. Sonically, ominous synths reminiscent of Moloko underscore an intimate vocal that shows off the Dublin artist's distinctive tone.

The cover art for the single was shot by Robert's frequent collaborator Daven Casey, who also shot the cover art and music video for "One Way Ticket".

Watch “Separate Ways” performed as part of Severance Live, a filmed show that saw Robert perform his latest EP in its entirety.
