Robert has announced his first-ever chillout album, ‘Night Tides: The Chillout Collection’, set for release on February 7, featuring “13 tracks for the afterparty and the morning after”.
Speaking of the album, Robert said: “There is nothing that centres me more than chillout music, and the process of producing this with Jordan Arteaga over the past year has been therapeutic and rewarding”.
He continued: “There songs, including the singles you're already familiar with, take on an entirely new life, and in many cases new meaning, in this context. Sharing it with the world feels like a bucket-list moment for me”.
The collection takes tracks like Robert's biggest streaming hit to date, “Everything You Wanted”, and transforms it from an '80s synth-pop song into a smooth lounge ballad recalling the glory days of George Michael and Sade.
Elsewhere, a downtempo version of “Mysterious Times” takes away the trademark trance elements of the original, rebuilding the track as a compelling ballad that wouldn't feel out of place on Coldplay's earlier albums.
